To Our Valued Customers, Vendors, Employees and Friends:
Our founder and CEO, Johnie Schulte, lost his battle with cancer on Friday October 30, 2009 at the age of 74. Johnie’s life was celebrated and remembered on Monday, November 2, 2009 on a beautiful day in Brenham, Texas.Today we find ourselves with the task of picking up and moving ahead. We want to assure you that our team at Schulte Building Systems is committed to do just that. Four years ago when we opened the doors for business under Johnie’s leadership, we structured and built a company based on a foundation of strong relationships with our customers, employees, vendors, and community. The core values that we established are built on trust, integrity, and a desire to give back. This “Schulte” way of doing business has been the reason for our success and will continue to guide us moving forward.
In addition to establishing our basic operating philosophy, Johnie also had the foresight to put in place a management team and financial structure to ensure SBS’s continued success.
Even though SBS is privately held, two years ago we established an active Board of Directors who have personally invested in the Company. They will continue their role of assisting the management team in growing the business and maintaining a solid financial footing. This board includes CA Rundell, who serves as Chairman, and Nolan Lehmann, who have extensive experience from serving on both public and private company boards. They also have over 50 years combined experience in the metal building industry. They are joined by Gary Kolkhorst, partner at Kolkhorst & Kolkhorst CPA firm. The board, along with the senior management team which averages more than 25 years of industry experience, provides all the capability we need to guide SBS through the tough decisions required in this challenging economy.
Finally we want to assure you that the financial stability of SBS is beyond reproach. It was essential to Johnie and his family that the company be structured in such a way to transition without incident in the event of this type of unforeseen circumstance.
To those of you who knew Johnie and to those of you who only knew of him, we ask you to consider his legacy:
- A commitment to the “Schulte way of doing business” – strong relationships, trust, integrity, and a desire to give back.
- Strong leadership and a management team second to none in the industry.
- A strong financial foundation that allows SBS the opportunity to provide a quality product at a competitive price and grow the business into the future.
Schulte Building Systems stands ready to continue being your supplier of choice for pre-engineered metal buildings and components. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to continuing to work with each of you in the future.
